How it all started…Transactel was established in Guatemala in 1995 as a mortgage and commercial portfolio management business. Our company expanded in 1998 to include risk management (credit bureau) services. In 2000, the credit bureau was partly sold to TransUnion LLC (20%) and 20% to IFC (International Finance Corporation – World Bank). In 2001, Transactel entered the fast-growing call center business. At that moment, our company already had several clients in the education, commerce and telecommunication sectors. The exceptional service provided encouraged our telecommunications client to request outsourcing services, originating Transactel’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operations. By the end of 2002 there was a growing need for our company to diversify its client base, which consisted of only local accounts. As a result, Transactel expanded to El Salvador, opening our first site, SISA building, to provide BPO services. |
Ramping up our growth…In 2004, Transactel formed strategic alliances with leaders in the call center industry. From that moment on, we grew exponentially and became internationally recognized. By 2005, Transactel had become the local distributor of the leader in business communications, Avaya and was certified by Moody’s as a “Special Servicer” for US funded mortgages in Guatemala. In 2007, Las Conchas and Tetra Center went live in Guatemala City. In 2009, we inaugurated our headquarters in Guatemala City, Torre Pradera, expanding our capacity and centralizing a large portion of our operations. Our company also expanded to Tegucigalpa, Honduras with operations at the CLARO building and opened the Recruitment and Learning Center in San Salvador. |
Transactel TodayFrom a small company with only a few clients to the largest BPO provider in Central America, today, Transactel has over 3,800 employees in three countries. We have won international reputation for the quality of our customer service and excellent operations. We have also received numerous awards for our internal branding campaigns, innovative strategies, outstanding work environment and commitment to the community.
