This is why our corporate strategy includes social, environmental and educational aspects which go hand in hand with our values of integrity, respect, commitment, leadership, purpose, we give where we live, drive innovation and embrace change and passionate about our people.

Corporate Social Responsibility is the department in charge of the successful planning and execution of all activities that help the community through sustainable projects that leave a mark of progression and allow our country to move towards a better future.

With each activity, we not only make an economic investment, but also promote the habit of helping others by teaching our Heroes that their time and knowledge is an essential part of the process to give back to the community where we live and work.

Once a year, we focus our efforts on our Day of Service. This is an event planned by the department of Corporate Social Responsibility, where all of our collaborators stop taking calls and put aside their daily activities to join a common cause: making a positive impact on the education of many children by building or rebuilding the facilities of schools for a better educational environment.

Transactel has worked along with organizations like United Way Guatemala, joining their efforts, time and dedication to make many events possible, like La Feria de los Sueños. This event is planned with the purpose of encouraging children to know that dreams do come true if you believe and work for them.

MORE THAN 3,000 TRANSACTEL HEROES HELP THE COMMUNITY 

Transactel and its Heroes celebrated the third edition of their Transactel Day of Giving, by giving the community projects that will support the education of more than 2,800 children. In this edition of the Day of Giving, 1,400 Transactel team members in Guatemala City, 400 in Quetzaltenango, and 1,200 more in El Salvador participated by donating their time and efforts.

The Day of Giving is the most important day in Transactel, because this is when every employee gets together to help and support the philosophy of “giving back where we live and work”. This Day of Giving is possible because Transactel Heroes voluntarily gave a part of their salary all year long to create a fund that helped carry out this day’s activities. The donation is only one part of the Heroes’ effort; they also gave their time and skills to build schools and all the amenities that will ensure children have a good education and make a positive impact in their lives. The voluntary donation of the Heroes, together with Transactel, contributed the sum of Q1, 300,000.00 helping fund the transformation of these schools.

The 500 students that attend the Escuela Oficial Rural Mixta Helena C. de Carrillo, will benefit from the construction of 6 new classrooms, bathrooms, a playground, a kitchen and a technological laboratory fully equipped with 100 computers.

In the Escuela Oficial Mixta Pachaj Cantel, located in Quetzaltenango, Transactel built 2 classrooms, remodeled the playground, planted trees and reconditioned general facilities. This school has 500 students, who will have the opportunity to have access to a better education and green areas for their recreation.

For Transactel, it’s highly important to share their philosophy of giving back where we live and work, with others entrepreneurs and social leaders. For this reason, Transactel has created the Community Board supported by different Guatemalan personalities that are distinguished by their work, passion, commitment and efforts towards building and helping communities in the country. The members of the Community Board will have the responsibility of searching for different initiatives or social programs that would help support Guatemala’s development.
